Picture a lazy river, warm breezes and a total release of all your cares! This is your afternoon with ROW Adventures on the lower Spokane. There is a peaceful five-mile section of river with gentle flows that run all summer long. We offer the choice of riding in a raft with a guide, or paddling your own sit-on-top kayak on this lovely section of river.   We glide by willows, aspen, and alder as we watch birds overhead, jump in for a swim and escape into another world on the Spokane River.

What to Bring:

  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses with retaining head strap - such as "Chums"
  • Swimsuit and/or quick-dry top and bottom
  • Tennis shoes or sports sandals with straps (No flip-flops)
  • Personal water bottle
  • Waterproof camera (optional)
  • Towel for the end of the day (optional)
  • Polypropylene long underwear or non-cotton base layer on cold days
  • We will provide you with splash gear (jacket and pants) for inclement weather.  You are welcome to bring your own set of rain gear if desired.

Where to Park:

There are about 12 parking spots at the Glover Field facility.  If those are full, there is street parking on Water Street to the west, or to the south on Main Street. There is also paid off-street parking at 1193 W Main Ave. Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early so you have time to park and walk to meet us.

*Please note we require a minimum of 4 guests to run a trip. If you're on your own, however, you can still join in the fun! We'll try to place you with another group in order to confirm your trip.

Spring/Summer 2021:

For the spring and summer season of 2021, we will operate under whatever Washington State regulations are in place relative to COVID-19 rules for outdoor recreation.  In 2020 these rules did require us to modify our operations including being able to take only one household group per raft.  During the float-trip season, when we also use sit-on-top kayaks, we had little impact since it's easy to maintain physical distancing in kayaks.

We are hopeful that by late May of 2021 we will be able to operate under normal conditions.  In terms of transportation, our plan for 2021 is to continue to avoid group transport by meeting guests at the put-in at Glover Field by the river in downtown Spokane where you will park your car. Washington State rules and CDC recommendations will determine how transport is conducted.  As the season gets closer we will update this information.

The ROW Spokane River float trip is the best!! You can relax out in nature. We are so fortunate to have the beautiful Spokane river right in our backyard. I would love to go on this trip every year!

Mid August 2020, an out of state friend was passing through, and I suggested we float the Spokane River with ROW as a way to socialize and enjoy nature while still social distancing due to neither of us wanting to risk Covid19. Our wonderful ROW guides and driver made us feel right at home and set the mood for a fun, relaxing and educational float on the crystal clear river. We chose to navigate the river in stable but manuverable red sit-on-top kayaks, squealing with delight through the bouncy rapids under the watchful eye of our kayak guide. We both had such a blast, and my friend said it was a highlight of her visit to north Idaho! Thanks ROW Adventures for yet again another fabulous trip! I've been floating so many rivers with ROW since 1988 and I wouldn't go with any other outfitter!

Our family did this trip in the summer of 2020 and it was wonderful, even though on that day there weren’t very big rapids. We still got in a good ride, an interesting tour of the river and Spokane, and met some nice people as well. The crew was great! And our 10 year old had his initial river rafting experience - and wants to do more! Highly recommend for the whole family!

My family did the Spokane River Float Trip last August. It was such a beautiful day, calm waters, and our guides were so knowledgeable about the history of Spokane and the wildlife. We were able to pull over and take a quick dip in the River! It was the perfect ending to our bike trip!
