Gonzaga University’s Jundt Art Museum provides space for various traveling exhibitions as well as artwork for Spokane natives and university faculty and students. The noteworthy blown-glass collection and chandelier by Dale Chihuly are surely something you don’t want to miss. The collection pieces are periodically rotated from the storage vaults to the always changing exhibition areas. Jazz joints and comedy clubs fill the streets in Spokane, where local musicians play into the wee hours of the night, and the Spokane Jazz Orchestra is not to be missed by jazz aficionados. The Orchestra is the longest running jazz performance orchestra in the nation! For a more traditional slant, pick up tickets for the esteemed Spokane Symphony, where classical music concerts are performed year round for a modest ticket price. The Spokane Symphony continues a long tradition as the largest and most active professional performing arts organization in the Inland Pacific Northwest. The orchestra presents critically acclaimed performances featuring some of the world's most respected soloists. The Spokane Symphony is dedicated to cultivating new audiences. The Theatre District in downtown Spokane will please any off-Broadway aficionado. The Fox Theatre was recently restored and is a must visit for those who love history and a good play. The Bing Crosby Theatre also offers local talents performing the classics. The Blue Door, Interplayers Theatre and the INB Performing Arts Center all provide fantastic talent and a variety of theatre options. Since its creation, the Blue Door Theatre has been an all-volunteer organization. Every Friday and Saturday night the Blue Door Theatre, with support from the Spokane community, hosts complete original, improvised and funny productions. Interplayers Theatre is a major contributor to the region's cultural quality of life, and is pivotal to the economic revitalization of downtown Spokane. The theatre works diligently to provide challenging, diverse and inspiring productions. Spokane’s INB Perfermorming Arts Center (formerly the Spokane Opera House) is owned and operated by the Spokane Public Facilities District and serves as the premier entertainment venue in the Spokane Region. A legacy from Spokane’s World Fair in 1974, the facility has hosted everyone from Jerry Seinfeld to "Phantom of the Opera" to "The Lion King." The elegant INB Performing Arts Center is adaptable for symphony concerts, ballet, grand opera, road shows, country and rock music spectaculars, musical stage productions, travelogues, conventions and lectures.
