Coeur d'Alene Fishing | Frequently Asked Questions
When to Go:
While ROW offers year round trips on the Coeur d'Alene River, the season typically peaks between early spring and the end of November. This particular river is an angler's dream come true, producing high catch rates throughout the season.
What to Bring:
The following list has been created based on years of experience! Most summer days in north Idaho are usually hot and sunny, making a swimsuit or shorts, T-shirt and tennis shoes the only necessary items. However, when cooler weather is forecasted, a set of polypropylene underwear and a wool or nylon pile sweater provide the warmth and protection needed to ensure optimum comfort on the river. Our guides prefer the combination of polypro underwear with a pair of nylon shorts over the top on cool days. When the temperature drops even lower, adding a nylon sweater is wise. Precipitation can come at any time in north Idaho, making raingear a necessity no matter when you visit this beautiful region. As it tends to retain moisture and wick heat away from your body, avoid clothes made from cotton materials while on our river excursions.
For Warm Days:
Sun screen and sun hat
Nylon shorts or swimsuit
Camera and film
Tennis or athletic shoes
Headstrap for glasses
Personal water bottle - optional
Raingear
For Cool Days:
Polypropylene underwear is highly recommended
Wool sweater or synthetic pile top
Rain gear
