Our experienced guides at ROW are more than happy to take you and your family on the Hiawatha trail, but if you decide to do it yourself we will show you how.

Where:

Lookout Pass Ski Area is located off I-90 Exit 0, at the Idaho/Montana state line, 60 miles from Coeur d’ Alene.   This is where you will buy tickets and rent bikes and equipment.  A bike rack for your vehicle will be supplied at no extra charge with the purchase of a bike rental as the East Portal trail head is 7 miles from Lookout Pass. There is no rental equipment available at the trail.

Operating Schedule:

Lookout Pass Ski Area is open 7 days a week from May 22 to September 26. The trails’ operating season is divided into three categories.

•    Early Season: May 27- June 27
•    Peak Season: June 28- September 6
•    Late Season: September 7- September 26.

For weather and trail conditions call in advance, especially during the Early and Late seasons.

•    The trail, trail head, and facility hours: 8:30AM- 5PM
•    Hours extended to 6:00 PM during the Peak Season (Pacific Daylight Time)

Ticket Information:

Ticket sales go to trail maintenance to ensure the path stays clean and safe.

Prices are as follows:

Day Pass:

•    Adult: $9
•    Child (6-13 years): $6
•    Children under 6 are FREE (All children must be accompanied by an adult)

Season Pass:

•    Adult: $25
•    Child (6-13 years): $15

Bike Information:

Bike rental packages can be purchased at the Lookout Ski Pass Area.  Packages include a helmet and light.

•    Adult front suspension mountain bike: $29 + tax
•    Adult comfort bike with full suspension: $34 + tax
•    Children (3-13 yrs): $18 + tax
•    Tag-a-long bikes: $18 + tax
•    Burley (canvas) trailers: $20 + tax
•    Helmets: $6 + tax
•    Lights: $5 + tax

6% Idaho sales tax will be added to all equipment rentals.

Shuttle Information:

A shuttle passes between Rowland and Pearson to pick guests up at the bottom of the trail.  Tickets can be purchased at Lookout Pass Ski Area or when you board the bus. Seats are available on a first-come first-serve basis.

The shuttle cost is:
•    $9 for Adults
•    $6 for children ages 6 through 13 years

The following tables give the shuttle schedule for the EARLY SEASON, the PEAK SEASON, and the LATE SEASON.  In times of inclement weather or other reasons, changes in the shuttle schedule will be posted at the East Portal, Roland, Moss Creek, and Pearson trailheads.
